Noted cognitive pollutant press bodies have been causing irritation and stress, and my workout wasn't great (apparently this is because I started off with running, which uses up all of something, but also my mp3 player had no battery left and the foot straps on the rowing machine weren't working properly and I overslept), so I have retaliated by ( Read more... )

Crawl inside the book! (Not literally, although I'm now trying to work out if there's some way one could build a giant book with tunnels inside where one could crawl around and not be seen, and somehow have it remain readable.)

Yes, but the letters are the tunnels and the pages are fixed and you have to view it from the air

That is both brilliant and frustrating. (Can we cover the walls of the tunnels with poetry or short stories or something? So people can be inside and cozy and have something to read.)

The inside tunnels are all made of eInk and you can read entire books on them

I'm into the idea of interactive walls in general. It's a lot of blank space that could be creatively used.

Yes!

Can we have somewhere where people can add their own stories, and (after some sort of system or possibly person who checks to make sure they're not graffiti or garbage) other people can read them?

Sort of like scaled-up Wattpad? And an editorial democracy.

Yeah! So people can be snuggled up inside a book telling each other stories or all cozy and on their own just reading whatever.

We need to get some rich person to make this, on "2017 has been hard and we're all owed nice things" grounds. (Or possibly get a grant to claim it as Art. Does your country still do grants for art?)

Noooot really but it has artist residencies in some public institutions and I imagine there are corporations who would be keen on being seen to be involved?

If this involves becoming established as An Artist, I have an idea that's fairly feasible with some charcoal, red ochre, chickenwire, and plaster that could be my "Look, an artist!" credentials.

AND you can swing both the Tumblr and Chin-stroker crowds on your biography.

True!

(I think the other idea would be fairly good. Basically building a small cave and doing cave-painting-style art of modern things, with the actual artificial cave to properly capture the three-dimensionality of it. And only let people in with flickery lights of some sort - actual torches might be a fire hazard, butI'm sure we could rig something up.)
