It's nice being reminded how many people in the world want you dead.

FRIDAY: Went to watch Ghostwatch at Susanne's with Susanne, Holly, and Chris (Team Very Big Nerds About Many Things), and occasionally the dog, who is very small and bossy but probably not a nerd. Despite a Significant Pizza Delay making me grumpy as all hell from hunger, a good time; Ghostwatch (utterly silly, oh God how stupid are the British ( Read more... )

There is some deeply unhealty "Eat painful quantities of fruits and vegetables, and nothing else" stuff being promoted out there. It turns out dividing food into Good and Bad? Not the best idea in creating actual healthy eating!

Carpe diem! With some backup planning in case we don't all die! (Pretty sure I will somehow be safe in it all, and actualy do need to save for retirement and stuff.)

In fairness to her, she did repeatedly say "there's more than one way to be vegan and this is just the way I choose to do it" but dear God SHE HAS AN EATING DISORDER. EATING! DISORDER!

Ugh no I don't want to be in the horrible situation of surviving and wishing I hadn't and that is what the world looks like it's going to be right now.

Yeah, eating painful quantities of food, including inedible stuff, isn't just another way to be vegan.

Damn, because I'm pretty sure I'm at the "Make it through whatever unscathed" level of privilege, and it's be nice to have surviving friends.

Not through everything, though. There's always the level of badness where they start throwing The Gays and Imperfect Bodies under the bus, which I think is round about the time the both of us end up enjoying a nice view of some axles prior to a splat.

Yeah, but I also have a tremendous number of friends overseas who would make it easy for me to get out if it started going that way.

I would like to think I had the same, but there's not much people can do to ensure an accessible Nebido supply and that does rather limit my options :/

Nah hey. Not good with the trans or with the gay there. Likely fucking themselves hard to the right, which is also not good. NZ is probably the better bet, or would be if I could drive and they'd stop having earthquakes and such.

Also on the list! Special bonuses for being good with the gay, having a large Asian population thereby ensuring I will have acceptable foodstuffs, and Lots Of Very Nice Looking Men. Downsides: COLD, proximity to America.

(All of these scenarios break my heart because I'd have to leave London, and I would really be half a person after that).

I have relatives considering moving to Canada (including doing actual research), so we could hang out there. But fleeing the country would be a last-ditch desperation move for me.
