Things! Things have occurred.
IT'S TIME FOR A NUMBERED LIST:
1. I went to find a sheet but the sheets were gone
2. But I met Sue Perkins so there's that
3. Also I finally got my fix of hot apple pie cocktail, which I could actually damn well drink this time because Itsu, who provided my dinner and may become an obsession, have v. low-calorie dinners.
4. And then today I tried to go to the library to work on fic for Fahye but the weather was repulsive and not compatible with a 4-mile straight walk, so I went and actually got the sheet (not at the first branch, no, no. I had to get someone in the store to look up where had them and the answer was "almost nowhere, for some reason"). BUT I walked to Carnaby Street from Tottenham Court Road and felt vaguely pleased with myself and my directional capabilities and earmarked 12 Meard Street as "place to own when I am conveniently rich".
5. Arrived in the post today: my pie tin. I mustered resources and a 4"-wide steak and kidney pie with lard pastry is cooling on the top of the stove now.
6. I GOT THE JOB.
7. I got the job, I got called up and informed that I was "excellent" and offered a VARIETY of choices. "We can put you on this team, or reserve a spot for you on the other team, or start you on this team and then switch you to the other team, whatever you want".
8. Apparently they were impressed?
9. I start on the 22nd.
10. Which is good because it doesn't interfere with the loony bin appointment on the 18th.
11. That, plus me having a funny five minutes on Amazon as a result of being offered the job and therefore being a future owner of TINY GOLD HOTPANTS, is what has been happening:
a) I met Sue Perkins
b) I got the job I wanted
but c) I have not started the fic.
THAT IS WHAT THE WEEKEND IS FOR CLEARLY
(Also I've nearly finished Foxglove Summer and it's GREAT).
