My favourite of my own stories this year:
Original: Well given that I've only really written one story in totality this year (finishing Tame ain't count) I don't think I can say other than The Circle anyway. Which is fine, I did like it.
Fanfic: The Long Haul because that's basically all I've written. Can I actually even do this meme.
Poetry: Hard to say, really. Maybe "Emotional Communism"?

My best story this year:
Original: The Circle.
Fanfic: The Long Haul. This meme's going to get boring.
Poetry: Not sure. Probably not actually Emotional Communism. Maybe Ganymede.

Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
Original: It would be toffee to say "The Circle" at this point but seriously NO ONE. NOT ONE OF YOU.
Fanfic: Hat-trick. Just to be different. As people did actually read The Long Haul.
Poetry: Most of them but peculiarly some did actually get some reads.

Most fun story:
Original: I'd say Tame but it was a slog to get finished, so probably actually The Circle.
Fanfic: Hat-trick.

Most sexy story:
Original: I don't think any of them were sexy.
Fanfic: Ditto.

Story with single sexiest moment:
Original: I guess the Circle because there were some? Possibly? It wasn't really sexy.
Fanfic: The Long Haul for the moment of knee-touching at the ballet.

Hardest story to write:
Original: Urgh. Tame, I guess, because I wanted to be done with it.
Fanfic: Well I actually started a bunch of stories and never made it very far into them, so you can read into that what you want. Previously I would at least have kept going, but I feel like there's no point, really, and I don't feel confident in the character voices, and no one is remotely enthusiastic, and I don't really CARE very much for the fandoms.
Poetry: Dunno a lot of them were pretty awkward.

“Holy crap, that's wrong even for you” fic:
Original: Nothing. I have written nothing.
Fanfic: See above.

Fic that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
Original: With anything you end up having a different idea of the characters by the end than you did at the beginning. The Circle certainly gave me enough room to do that. Which I can't talk about, as none of you have finished reading it yet.
Fanfic: None. I had a clear idea of the characters at the start.

Biggest disappointment:
Original: The Circle! I mean, I liked writing it and I liked where it was going. I just wish anyone else had.
Fanfic: Inability to get started, finish, or care about, most fics.
Poetry: Everything just came out flat.

Biggest surprise:
Original: Tame getting finished at all. I'd given it up for dead.
Fanfic: Where the fuck did The Long Haul even come from.
Poetry: That I kept writing it? I think the surprise good reception of isotypes of desire POSSIBLY as I didn't think it was very good but Tumblr has nothing even approaching taste.

Most telling story:
Original: All of them forever. If you go looking for the author you'll find them.
Fanfic: I guess the Long Haul since it's about socially shit people trying to fit a D/S relationship around their lives.
Poetry: A repeat of last year but: all of them, poetry is where feelings go to throw up.

What's next?
Original: Gonna start putting more research reading and plotting energy into Hooked to the Silver Screen for earlier in this year, dunno about what I'm going to do for NaNo, I have files and files full of plot outlines and concepts for novels and short stories alike waiting for me to stop hating everything I commit to words.
Fanfic: Fuck fandom and fuck fanfic and fuck ever bothering with that shit again.
Poetry: Keep on keeping on, I guess, until I have enough to put out another book.
Other: Plug on with the blog, throw things at publishers, loathe myself, withdraw from the internet, keep wishing for an early grave.
