Hat Trick (Indiana Jones)

Other stuff goes here. No it doesn't, not really. I'm reading The Chemickal Marriage. I ordered the lining fabric for what will hopefully be a dementedly awesome indoor coat and not a terrible clusterfuck of taffeta. I had vague thoughts about the term "Saxonpunk" and then about nailing Kassie to something so I can ( Read more... )

I feel the need to say that I would rock the FUCK out of Saxonpunk if there was such a thing.

I'm glad things are going relatively well. I'm also slightly curious about what a clusterfuck of taffeta would look like.

What were you envisioning for Saxonpunk?

Something in the line of further back in the history of Albion-of-the-Britons in ASAH, basically. A society more governed by Saxon law and custom than by a modern equivalent, but with more advanced technology than was available to the Saxons when they were a going concern.

(I imagine the taffucketa would probably be a swooshy mess. The fabric is nice, I really just have to not cock up on cutting it and pressing it).

That sounds really interesting. (I'm always impressed by the actual proper planning you do in worldbuilding, since I tend to go "Wait, this bit of the story depends on details I haven't worked out! Time for some hasty attempts at sorting out how things work!")

(Well, whatever you produce, it should at least be interestingly dramatic and swooshy. Also, I just looked up taffeta, because I realized I don't know things about fabric.)

To be fair, I do a lot of that as well. :)

Oh it will be, it's based off a pirate coat with godets in and stuff. :D I don't know a great deal about fabric, most of what I know is from the sample book my mother had left over from college.
