A random thought, on rewatching Maurice: "That's what they do, though. They teach you; the thing you want most is wrong and filthy and hideous, and if anyone reciprocates it will be for gain, or because you have bullied them into it. No one will ever want you the way you want them."
It'd have been nice if that was something that got left behind with the Wolfden Report and the decriminalisation but of course it's not been. I mean, thigns that were never criminalised in the first place have that stuck to them. God knows I got an earful and a brainful of the Predatory Lesbian. Awful indecency. It wears you down rather.
