The endless competition! I love writing Mycroft and Sherlock because it's like playing a game of quite angry chess inside your own head, they're constantly trying to out-manoeuvre each other, and then I have PAGES AND PAGES of theories about Mycroft's feelings towards Sherlock which involve resentment and protectiveness and envy and guilt.
I still have no plans to go out there to read Sherlock fic, but I feel like I've just watched a missing scene from the series
