(Quick thought: what I loved about Misfits, at the beginning, was that everyone hated each other and was a total shit with some redeeming features. They weren't remotely friends, and there was this huge weight, this tension hanging over them for the whole season: we killed our probation worker, and sooner or later someone is going to find out. I think season 2 lacked that (also it had that moronic Simon Is Super fucking plotline), and I will with-hold judgement on season 3 until I've seen it, but if it turns into whimsy - regardless of how funny or gross or interesting the characters are - I will be disappointed to a degree that the darkness and tension that made it interesting in the first instance has been drained away.)
