1. Hana: freelance engineering consultant & diplomatic aide. Conversation almost certainly gets going due to being very much trained to socialise from a young age. Most likely to be at some sort of political event/visitation, although equally possible to be entertaining with ladies of the town.
Hajar: Research engineer and freelance translator. Conversation almost certainly dies in a ditch unless it is at the university, in which case there is likely to be an interdisclipinary spat, particularly if the other participant is an Occult-Method follower. In fact it will almost certainly either be at the university or at one of Hana's dinners.
Ben: Will either go with "doctor" or "non-occult doctor" and leave out most of the other stuff, and unless the other conversant is tactful/passionate on the matter of advocacy for the Method, the conversation is going to end in frosty stares or a shouting match. Social occasion is almost certainly university-related.
Ferdinand: "Something technical at ABB", if pressed will go into details, and if recognised will admit to also providing some of the continuity announcements. Conversation will definitely fly, he is very personable and quite friendly given the opportunity. Social event would be ABB-related as he's not much access to other venues (because Albion is still PRETTY DAMN RACIST).
Radigis: Haahhaha what he says he is depends entirely on the social situation he is in. And the social situations are many, although mostly politically-connected. The conversation will definitely take off, and he will spend most of it trying to figure out what he can get from them.
Aerdis: Dude she's on a floating city and she's the one of the few people there with a missing limb. People already know who she is and what she does.
Qingting: Qingting is a refueller! Qingting will tell you about this FOREVER. DO NOT LET HER START TALKING.
El Alacran & El Miriapodo: Ahahahah social event ahahahah small talk.
John: the likelihood of him attending any kind of social event is vanishingly small. If someone asks he says he works on an oil rig, and then people stop asking.
2. Easily divided into Albion/Non-Albion responses. El Miriapodo, El Alacran, Qingting, and Aerdis are just like LOL WHO CARES ABOUT WOLVES, WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO DO EXACTLY? Whereas Hana (technically Albion since she's been resident nearly 30 years), Hajar, Ferdinand, Ben, and Radigis would probably have differing levels of freakout about it. None of them are - prior to leaving Albion - terribly likely to encounter the situation, since they're all city-dwellers. John I suspect is the odd one out, as he'd address it WITHOUT the freakout first.
3. El Miriapodo, El Alacran: No, it doesn't work that way where I come from.
Qingting and Aerdis: both had the same teacher, a man called Naïn. He was okay. They missed him when he died.
Radigis: Some meaningless blather about the worth of a good education, some name-dropping, most of it made-up.
Hana: Would say her father.
Hajar: Would say her mother.
John: Does not wish to talk about life before the oil rig. Ever.
Ferdinand: Education from apprenticeships greatly useful, but feels that what has shaped him into the man he is is Hugo.
