Which has been, for quite a long time, "Slightly Embellished In The Process Of Adaptation: This Is All True Except For The Parts That Aren't". If ever anyone is foolhardy/weird enough to write a thing about me as a sort of book, a biography thing, that's what I'd want it called, too.
Here is something I underlined in The Raw Shark Texts by Steven Hall. It's from very close to the end of the book, and I had a devil of a time finding a pen that worked as I was sat at the bus stop grumping to myself about the cold etc., but I felt it was important to remember:
[...]whatever you write down it's not the truth, it's just a story. Stories are all we're left with in our head or on paper: clever narratives put together from selected facts, legends, well edited tall tales with us in the starring roles.
In the spirit of that, tell me an anecdote?
Seriously, please, my sinuses have been hurting for what feels like all eternity. :( And we're running low on Talisker. I would say "I can just fall back on the shitty High Commissioner," but Nny and I drank THE ENTIRE BOTTLE, so that's not happening.
