Me at 22
I lived in:
Somerville, MA, with contrariety and semipermanent houseguest J.E.Y. at the end of the 87/88 bus line. My first adult apartment, and my first time living with a S.O. Our apartment developed a terrible ant infestation right before I turned 23, and we had to move.
I drove:
I had no car but I was using Zipcar to go shop at nicer grocery stores. It worked out great for me. The car I usually rented was a white Golf, but once I rented this electric car, which was really weird to drive - they fill the tires extra, I think, and the thing had almost no grip on the road.
I was in a relationship with:
J.E.Y. Our living together that early was somewhat unplanned, but we mostly did okay with it, despite it being a suboptimal living-space situation.
I feared:
Neuromuscular illness & disability. Cancer.
I worked at:
Kaplan, Inc., in Central Square.
I wanted to be:
I was really still figuring that out. It took me a long time to find a job and I didn't like the one I eventually got. I was trying to see if cello could be a thing for me after all, so I was practicing a fair bit.

Now (age 33)
I live in:
Brooklyn - about to move in with another boyfriend for the first time since J., actually! Exciting times all around.
I drive:
My dad's old 2002 Prius. I am kind of sheepish about the extent to which I have battered this car since it was handed down to me. OH WELL.
I am in a relationship with:
M.A.M.T.
I fear:
Not getting a decent job. Other people's scorn of my work.
I work at:
Rutgers University, as an ABD doctoral student.
I want to be:
A professor, if I can get a job. And regardless of the career aspect of "want to be", I still want to be the best musician I can, and the best writer that I can, and hopefully a good friend to my friends.
