"A Story About a Girl" opens this Friday. Quite honestly, I have not been enjoying working on this show. But well, two more weeks and I will be done with it. The funny thing is, I have already started working on the first show I'll be stage managing in the fall semester: "The Importance of Being Earnest." Which will take place in the new, big, and simply amazing Hansen Theatre. Then in the spring semester, I'll be working on "Urine Town," a musical, which will also take place in the Hansen Theatre.

Aside from stage managing shows, I have also started on my first directing project. I'll be directing a scene from "Wit." The first meeting with the cast members went very well. For me, being able to direct this scene means a lot. I've always been interested in directing, but just never had the time to do it with all the shows I stage managed. Not to mention the fact that as a stage manager, I am supposed to keep my eyes and ears open and keep my mouth shut. However, working closely with so many directors has always been a huge learning process for me. I get the see the ways they work and direct. Not to mention the fact that I get to watch the actors bringing about the magic in theatre. Actors really are amazing, and really, being able to see them do what they do on stage has always been on of the reasons that inspires me and helps me ease the stress in stage management.

Anyways, this summer I'll be going back to Taiwan, working on an opera and a children's theatre show in Taipei. Who knows what is going to happen. All I know now is that it will be quite an adventure, which is more than enough to keep me going. In Life.
