it seems like ages since i wrote anythign on thie blog. with the absence of motivation and inspiration, the neccesity of this blog's existence is often questioned. what used to be an outlet of stress-releif and communication with pals seems to have lost some of its initial purposes. many of my close friends aren't in this blogging circuit, and some of those who are don't blog much. and if time and schedule permit i would rather catch up with friends in person. but we're all busy aren't we? so, to my Lj friends: i may not leave comments often but i'm definitely reading, everyday except on weekends.

lots have happened lately. some good, some bad, and some ugly. there some issues i'm still trying to work out. there are some i'm trying to ignore. i guess i'm not as decisive and level-headed as i would like. but all in all, i'm ok. i'm not mentally, emotionally or spiritually bankrupt or whatever, y'know. i still got the soul and the funk.

since yesterday i had listened to the entire album of 'miseducation of lauryn hill' 3 times. the music uplifted me quite a bit (which prompted me to write this entry btw). ah the simple joys in life.

for those who don't know, this is miss lauryn hill's (formerly from the hip hop group Fugees) debut solo album that is almost entirely written, arranged and produced by herself. it's laregly a hip hop album that has shades of reggae, soul and gospel. some very serious and deep issues are addressed stylishly over very intricate arrangements. her voice has been touched by an angel. i've been listening to this album for years and i can still listen to it without skipping a track. this is how great this album is to me.

i say to people: listen to music! it helps us get through tough times, reminds us of the good, educates us, inspires us, enthuses us, warns us of danger, helps us create, touches our soul and makes us better human beings.
