Drama in the NYC
In case anyone is curious - I’ve just been accused of scamming people out of their money. I got together a bunch of people on livejournal to send money to a once friend of mine who was in dire need of support. When money is sent through paypal it usually takes five days for it to get into my bank account or even longer. I got together $180 for their hotel rooms two weeks ago and whatever money was left over was waiting to be transferred to my bank account. I never at any moment planned on keeping the money so tonight in order for my reputation as a person with integrity to remain in tact as it has always been I will be sending the money back to the people who sent it. If they choose to send the money to this person that is up to them but I will no longer be a part of it. I’ll even calculate the money and send an email to each person who sent money so they have every indication of where the money went.
I was told they were living in their car. For three consecutive days we emptied our bank account and went to stores to fax authorizations for the hotel to charge my card. On the third day we didn’t have enough in the account and we had to search around the house to find enough money to pay for the hotel room and also the $15 western union charge so that they could get out of the heat. My mom was running around for three days trying to get them the hotel money and see if she could get them beds when they got here.
We borrowed $110 to pay a bill, which they had left from $500 some other girl had sent this girl. We had the money to pay them back when we came home on Wednesday but they were gone, without a note or a call. I think if there is a scam going on it is clear it is not from this end.
I can’t send the money back to everyone right this second because I have a life [even though I was accused by this persons mother of not having one] and I have a party to go to. If you feel like I’ve lied to you in anyway or have been dishonorable, feel free to take me off your friends list. I wouldn’t want to be there anyway if anyone could believe such an incredible untrue thing about me.
