So, yes.
My Uncle Steve is a bit eccentric, but humorous, nevertheless. He is a psychologist and works in a hospital. Apparently, he and his co-workers have a little too much time on their hands, so they have developed a theory, along with a treatment plan, video, you name it. It's a joke, but they have so much fun fooling people with it. If anyone is a psychology major, they may know of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs (after one succeeds in completing the hierarchy, they obtain self-actualization). My uncle and his friends' hierarchy goal, named the Dunn and Neel Theory, is to reach self-absorbtion. The levels are as follows:
1.) Less concern for others
2.) Suck it up! (basically, get over it, no one cares)
3.) No fuzzy feelings (ie, love, compassion)
4.) No concern for anybody
5.) And finally, being completely self-absorbed
Every so often, my uncle calls to inform me that I have not completed my therapy, and need to come in immediately to do so ;) Haha.
