i'm gonna change things up
maybe eyes closed and jump
but onto my feet you better believe
because i do.
would you substitute the blue in your eyes for a color that could see?
or perhaps a harmony for a melody?
what i'm saying is change things up
rather than living your day like it's the last live it like it's your first
say enough is enough and when worse comes to worst
well then you can only go up.
put yourself in control.
stand tall, and wherever you go leave your heart and your soul
because you've been there
and though you may never go back you can't be afraid to fall.
and if you hit a wall you might crack but you'll never shatter.
and from the ground the ladder only goes one way so change it up.
don't be afraid to ask for help but trust yourself.
grab someone else by the hand and maybe they will grab you back by the heart
but don't look to the finish before you even start.
count your steps and get your reps.
you may not always play your cards right but it's the fight, not the win or the loss.
and sometimes it's a coin toss.
it doesn't matter where it lands, be it your hand or the sand.
look through the eyes of a child again and take the road instead that may bend.
don't worry about the who what where when but ask why.
try to realize it's okay to cry, but alone your tears should never dry.
wake up in the morning and recognize your beauty.
sing as if nobody is listening.
but know there is always somebody listening.
