Wheee!

My band just finished recording an *awesome* demo...guess where? The same place Rufio recorded 'Perhaps I Suppose". It's a small place called Love Juice Laboratories. ;D we were down with the guy who mixed their cd, he was really cool. He was also playing Rufio's guitar lines on his guitar for Mike, who was more than fascinated ;) He always wanted to know how to play the intro to the first song. A lot of the bands that record there like to leave their mark on the walls with writing or stickers, and we kept seeing Rufio stickers and stuff. Travis Barker from Blink 182's been there a few times to visit, and Shane West from A Walk to Remember has a band called Jonny Was that records there. He was supposed to be bringing Keanu Reeves over to record with him (Keanu plays bass I think) last week but Keanu didn't come because he's too busy doing the Matrix 2. We didn't realize how well known this place was until we got there. It's like, this small building in the backyard of an old house in Riverside. But it's *way* professional. Anything that comes out of there sounds like it came from a more big time studio, as you know now from hearing about Rufio ;D Oh yea, and Finch has recorded there too. Hehe. Anyway, Thought you'd like to know, we were excited. I'll have the new music online soon. It's SO much more awesome! It makes our last demo sound like SHIT. LOL.

I took the liberty of driving the 5 hours (we took my car) down there. I have never driven in LA traffic before...kinda scary. I was glad to have Mike as a second pair of eyes with me so he could look behind me as I looked in front so I could change lanes since the traffic kept stopping and going (as rush hour traffic does) unexpectedly. I thought that as soon as we got to Hollywood/Universal City Mike would take over since the roads get confusing, but I'm glad I had the experience doing it myself. On Thursday night, Mike drove back but then I took over at a rest stop just before Buellton, but I was only able to go about 40 minutes before I needed Mike to take over again. It was kinda annoying driving back because that's when Cal Trans decides to do all road work since not many people are on the road. Lots of lanes were closed off, and even our much needed Hwy 101 entrance off of the 60. So we ended up having to take the 5 towards Sacramento before finding the Ventura 101 and getting back on track. grr. We got back at like, 6 am and we both had classes and tests today. I just got back from dragging myself to the gym and now I am officially worn out.

Oh well, it was all rad. The demo sounds so so so good! I'll have the 3 best ones from it (it will be a hard pick) up on mp3.com soon. Now we get to work our butts off to get more money to have the CDs duplicated and printed. We're getting great feedback from the Love Juice producers that we should get signed by at least a small time label with this demo. Yay!

And now it is 6:30 pm, and time for bed. Z_z
