a priest in britain during king henry viii's reign over the church of england. he met a vampire unknowingly, the man under the guise of a scholar who desired to know more about christ; it was august's outspoken need to rid the world of demons that earned him his change-- a spiteful one, meant to turn him into just what he damned. the de lucas found him and took pity on him, teaching him their trade so he could watch over damian (now toby)'s sector in america. as part of a drug cartel, he's abandoned a lot of his previous beliefs, but not all of them; he's more jaded, still tough as nails and unforgiving of anything spoken against the de lucas. he's protective of toby, too, seeing her as not quite as confident in her abilities as her brother was-- he still sees a lot of potential in her, however, that he wants to foster. augustine ambrose
