yep, they do hyperextend. in yoga they always want me to keep them slightly bent (so they'll look straight, even though they don't feel straight), although i don't know if that also applies to handstands in yoga or just to other stuff. but in handstands we're always told to lock our elbows, so it hasn't been a problem.
i used to be in the habit of keeping them slightly bent in downward facing dog and such, after getting corrected a million times. (i think i'd prefer it if someone just came by and bent my elbows rather then getting a whole speech on how i'm hyperextended -- no, really? -- and should keep my elbows bent even though it might feel weird to me and on and on) but i when i took that run of yoga classes in december i realized i've gone back to locking them. surprisingly, none of the instructors bothered me about it.
these photos are very cool -- with my monitor set a little dark, at first you appeared headless! without a head for reference, the second picture is very unearthly, especially with the hyperextended elbows...
A Gorgeous (I can never spell that word) collection. I just adore so many of these...have friended you...Inspires me to want to take more pictures, why oh why did my roommate and her wonderful digital SLR camera have to go to Kenya!!
thank you. do you have a digital camera aside from the one your roommate took with her to kenya? it would be fun to see more picture of you and your life!
I have a friend in town who I sometimes borrow a camera from, I just asked her if I could borrow it again actually, I think I took about 100 pictures on the SLR between September and December when she left... they are all on the computer, and I have been meaning to get some sort of photo account, some are on LJ scrapbook but I'm just figuring out how that works... for some reason I was SO confused at first
