[Hisoka hates sweets. He hates them a lot. Empty calories in general tend to rub him the wrong way, which made it extra surprising when he found that weird little note lying around:]

Libra:
• Your sudden sweet tooth is probably a sign of impending doom ( Read more... )

[This week has been hell, utter hell. That prediction in his journal just confirmed every fear Ceodore's been stewing on for months. And he's trying not to be himself anymore, but there's nothing doing for him giving up his sweet tooth. Maybe just a few cookies to sustain him for a longer brooding session. But the sign and tent outside the bakery grabs his attention.]

Um... is that for real?

[Please tell him things get better.]

[Did someone say cookies? Because Hisoka's got a substantial stash of them beside him on the table now. It's making things a little crummy, but it's all for the greater good in the end.]

Of course it's real. Why wouldn't it be? [Are you slow, kid?]

[Not slow but certainly uncertain after the week he's been having. He takes the cranky response in stride though without batting an eyelash. He's immune thanks to the power of derp and regular doses of dragoon grump.]

So you can predict what's going to happen?

[He sees that cookie collection and it seems like a fair cost for getting more information.]

The sign does say "real," doesn't it? [Honestly, why do some people have so much difficulty with a simple concept?]

R-right. So uh...How does it work?

[Sorry but they don't really have palm readers where he's from. Dancing girls, people that talk to crystals, mysteriously prophetic swords. No palm readers. Right now, he'd take any of those as long as they can reassure him that everything at home will work out okay since he's pretty sure the predictions about his failness are 100% true.]

First of all, you sit down and stop worrying so loud. You're making my head hurt already.

Sorry about that.

[Sitting down now, although now Ceodore's worrying that he's abusing the guy's head by thinking at all.]

[...And. Lineface.]

Just take a cookie and shove it in your mouth. Give me your free hand. [Idiot.]

Oh, thanks!

[Just as instructed, Ceodore nicks a cookie and nibbles on it while extending his hand. Of course, in so doing, he goes right back to worrying about things he's been told about the moon crashing into their home and his mother being taken and this mystery illness set to befall his father. "All is not lost. But most of it is." the prediction said. So just what is most?]

[He reaches out to touch Ceodore's hand -- and then drops it like a hot potato, hissing sharply.]

What the hell is wrong with you? Are you trying to screw with me?

[Yeah, got no idea what the guy's talking about.]

Do you have no idea how to focus?

I don't care. Pick something.

R-right.

[Really the main thing weighing on Ceodore's mind is that conversation with his Father about the second moon threatening to devour their world. It's something he's been desperate to fix since hearing about it, since it's not known if it's even possible to save their home. Focusing on it though just makes him all the more gloomy, since that prediction said most everything was lost.]

[Why are there so many people here convinced that one person can change the fate of the world alone? It's getting annoying. Hisoka flinches and fights the urge to puke up all the junk food he's been shoving into his mouth this week.]

In what way do you think it's your responsibility to save the world alone? Do you think your father managed it without help?
