Okay, so I recently watched the Horatio Hornblower movies.

abbylee: Hey, do you want to come over and help me assemble these chairs?*
phela: Yeah, sure! I like tools. :)
abby: Ooh, and can I make you watch Horatio Hornblower with me while we work?
phela: That has ships in it, right?
abby: Yes!
phela: Yeah, sure! I like ships. :)

AND THEN WE STARTED WATCHING, AND THIS HAPPENED:

phela (to abby, who is temporarily in another room): Um, is that Jamie Bamber? IS THAT A WEE JAMIE BAMBER??
abby: I thought you knew he was in this!
phela: NO, NO I DID NOT. OH MY GOD.
abby: I thought that was why you were willing to watch it!
phela: IT HAS SHIPS, AND I LIKE THEM. I did not know I would also be getting WEE JAMIE BAMBER! *\o/*

So, you know, wee Ioan Gruffudd and wee Jamie Bamber! They are in these movies. And you know what? THESE MOVIES, THEY ARE AWESOME. Let me show you how:

SHIPS!
CANNONS!
SWORD FIGHTS!
HOMOSEXUAL SUBTEXT! (or: BOYFRIENDS!)
WEE! JAMIE! BAMBER!
GREATCOATS!
TEEEEEAM!

I think I was born to love these movies! *___*

*we still have not managed to assemble those chairs. TV IS DISTRACTING, OKAY? /o\

I have also been watching The Mentalist. This is also all
abbylee's fault:

abby: You should watch The Mentalist. Tim Kang is awesome! I think you would like him.
phela: Hm, okay? I could watch a couple episodes, I guess.

Now, all I knew about this show before I started it was that it is kind of like Psych, except it's a drama and not a crackfest.

*a week later*

phela: OH MY GOD, TIM KANG. HE IS MY NEW TV BOYFRIEND.
abby: heeeee.
phela: *_____*

I think that mostly I love him for his comedic timing? His lines aren't especially funny, but his deadpan delivery of them makes me cackle. Also, he is really beautiful. You can't go wrong with beautiful, am I right?

I should also note that while, yes, The Mentalist is a drama, it is also full of humour and lots of adorable character moments. So, you know, preconceived notions = bad. :)

If I had more time I would totally do up an entire post full of screencaps and quotes and youtube clips and things, but I don't. So you're just going to have to acquire yourselves season one and HAVE AT IT.

I'm in training agaiiiiiiiiin, ugh. My boss is trying to get all of my training for this one half of my job finished before the summer holidays start, and it's stressing me out, a little. :/

Received an invitation to participate in a focus group for the Fringe, as one of their 'most knowledgeable and dedicated volunteers'.

HA HAAAAAA THAT IS SO FUNNY. If by 'knowledgeable' they mean 'thrown into my position with no real training and then given the task of training others to do a job I'd never done before', then sure, I'm knowledgeable! And if by 'dedicated' you mean 'works long hours in a high-stress job and wants to sit in a corner and cry half-way through the festival and by the end vows never ever to do it again and yet, for some reason, always does', then sure, I'm dedicated!

I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm totally looking forward to this focus group, but that's mostly because I'm hoping to head off major issues before the festival starts instead of having to deal with them when it's too late to change things. And I'm also looking forward to the festival itself even though it burns me out and makes me want to throw things at stupid people and I exist in the constant fear that I will do something horribly wrong and get in serious trouble. /o\ Um, mostly I enjoy the community? :D? :D?

If I could figure out how to make my computer access the scanner, that would be REALLY AWESOME. I am very behind on everything already, please don't exacerbate things, desktop. >:(
