I had hit the grocery store on my way home from work, and as I came up the front stairs of my building I ran into an older fellow coming down from the top floor (mine). He said, "You're late!" and I said, "Hahaha, uhhh, sure?" and he said, "At least for dinner, right?" and I just kind of shrugged and smiled and escaped.

I don't know which apartment he lives in, but I guess he is usually home when I arrive and so...knows my schedule? I have no idea, but it was kind of creepy and weird. And also, sorry, I'm never late for dinner, because I'm the one making it (or rather, usually *not* making it and just, like, foraging. but whatever, you guys know what I mean).

I bought two jars of salsa today because they were on sale and sounded yummy. Here are my verdicts:

peach - very yummy! just the right amount of sweet with a tastefully spicy undertone

raspberry chipotle - tasty, but a bit too spicy for me, because I am a wimp. but mixed with another, milder salsa (perhaps the peach?) will hopefully make it eatable. and if not I'll give it away to a good home.

Little Brother was helping Mum pack some boxes at her apartment and he came across the copy of Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal that I had lent to her over a year ago (and which she has still not read), so he took it home and is now half-way through it and is already trying to pimp it out to his friends.

Ah, we're so totally related. :)

I've been feeling a bit poetical lately - I think it was the trip out to the 'cottage', and the endless expanse of sky-meets-earth that is the entire trip up there (except for the foresty bits) - and as such I wrote something non-fannish, for the first time in a long, long while. And it felt good.

You know, if I could do the whole post-secondary education thing over again, I would totally take this. Not that it was offered back when I was graduating high school (at least I don't think? I'm pretty sure the exhibitors at a recent Career Symposium said it was only a few years old), and not that I didn't thoroughly enjoy some of the classes I took in university (like Vikings, and all but one of the Psychology ones), but if I were a senior right now I would do it all differently.

I need to stop thinking about this, it's making me yearn.

Little Brother taped L&O:UK for me last night! \o/ I am still boggled that these don't exist anywhere on the internet. IS IT *REAL* IF IT DOESN'T EXIST ON THE INTERNET? I bet there's a rule about this sort of thing.

school, life, law & order uk, books, food, writing
