Easter/my birthday was spectacularly uneventful: chinese food, cake, awkward silences, depressing movies, brother being a jerk, watching the History channel <-- highlight of the weekend ( Read more... )

Thanks, dear!

My birthday wasn't as bad as last year or the year before, at least, lol. I got a fair amount of chocolate, but I really don't need it. *pats belly* Chinese food IS yummy and it's kind of a tradition that we're all lazy for birthdays/holidays and order in. :D

GLOW BOWLING WILL BE AWESOME! *pumps fist*

Meh, I don't need the chocolate either but it's still nice once in a while!! Especially during the official chocolate holiday ;)

How come your birthdays are so bad? :( They should be fun!!

How come your birthdays are so bad?

I KNOW, RIGHT? I guess the last few years I've just felt...old*? And depressed? Like, I didn't even want gifts this year, just the vaccuum, which THANKFULLY I got. I suppose every one of those bad birthdays had good aspects too, but overall they've been depressing melodramas. FULL OF ANGST OR INANITY. D:

*WHICH IS HILARIOUS BECAUSE I'M REALLY, REALLY NOT OLD AT ALL. 23 SHOULD NOT FEEL OLD. And yet I'm clearly jaded and hate the world, which makes a big difference in the enjoyment of annual celebrations. APPARENTLY.

:( That really sucks, but yeah I woke up this morning and wanted to cry, and I dunno why (it's my b-day, since we're on the subject, but I don't mean to be all like "oh wish me a happy birthday" or anything). I didn't want to go to school to see all my friends make me feel special or anything. But I still can't believe that not even one recent one has been like THE BEST B-DAY EVER :( Maybe nxt year you'll feel better about turning a year older.

Ahaha I only wish I was 23. I'm like, half that. Well not actually, but people treat me that way sometimes. Besides the point, you should be happy!! Like so happy, you could cry. Tears of joy though.

Gah, I tried. I probably made you feel even worse :(

Happy birthday!!!

People treat me like I'm either a) a teenager or b) a forty year old. There's just no inbetween.

It's okay, you didn't make me feel worse - you're the only LJ friend to actually acknowledge my birthday, so you made me happy. :D

GET FAT ON CAKE, OKAY? That's the best thing about birthdays FOR SERIOUS. XD

Thank you!!

I would have expected more people to come by and wish you a happy b-day!!! They kind of suck at the moment don't they :(

Well no cake. But my mom made my fave dessert, naniamo bars so it was alright. You've heard of naniamo bars right? They seem to be a Canadian thing :P

I totally bought nanaimo bars as birthday cake for the apartment. THEY'RE MY FAVOURITE TOO!! Although I don't really like the brand at Safeway - IGA used to have the best nanaimo bars, but they don't seem to carry them anymore, at least not at the one by my dad's house. D:

My roommate tried to make me nanaimo bars a while back using a boxed mix but there totally wasn't enough filling, lol.

OMGOSH AWESOME!!! They're sooo sweet. I don't usually get to buy them at the grocery store, but the ones here that you can get at Dominion/A&P (same store chain) are pretty good. I've never shopped at IGA or Safeway, since they don't have them around here :( But I can't believe they would stop selling them!! They're the best ever!

D: What a tragedy!!! You have to have at least a quarter inch of yellow filling!!!

IT WAS BARELY OPAQUE AFTER IT WAS SPREAD FOR SERIOUS. We think maybe if we'd had a smaller container then everything would have ended up being thicker, but MAN THAT WOULD HAVE MADE, LIKE, A VERY SMALL SERVING.

You...don't have Safeway? D: Well, we don't have Dominion/A&P, so...*eyebrow*

HEY DO YOU HAVE SOBEYS? They bought the IGA chain, but there are still some franchise IGAs kicking around (which are called 'Garden Market IGAs', in case you care at all).

That sucks!!! You can't even call those naniamo bars!!

Really?? Interesting... do you have an Independant/Lawblaws?

Sobey's!! Yeah I think we might have one of those, but it's too far away too shop at. I have heard of IGA, they have one up north, but there are none in the city that I know of.

We don't have Independant/Lawblaws. Do you have Superstore/Supervalue?
