3. On The Battlefield- APOLOGIES FOR THE SERIOUSNESS. It took hold of me randomly. fablednorway October 15 2011, 09:54:24 UTC
There was nothing beautiful about warAs he stood there in the pouring rain, his nonchalant expression hardened by bloodshed, he knew that more intimately than any one person should ever realize. He wasn't alone though. Any of the nations realized how destructive war was. His entire body felt sore, weak, bruised, broken. He knew that he was bleeding all over, that his hair was disheveled- such a rare sight for the typically clean and neat nation. His expression was intense, serious. It was the very climax of the battle. The grounds littered with the bodies of men and it was a devastating sight and yet...So incredibly necessary ( ... )

More than once, Sweden thought that he could leave his bloody past behind. He was wrong. Many times he had to fight whether he wanted it or not, either for self-defense or to protect others ( ... )

...brb. Dying in embarassment. Biggest amatuer ever on these boards..obviously.. fablednorway October 16 2011, 06:37:11 UTC
The massive nation, of course, was intimidating. However, Norway had smacked Denmark around enough to know that he could trust himself in taking down a considerably larger nation. He was stronger than he looked. He took a step or three forward and he could feel his side screech in pain. A cracked rib maybe- he didn't know. He didn't even care.

"I'm sorry," Norway said, earnestly, but his words were still cold. It was difficult for them not to be. Even if he was a moron, Denmark had been hurt by this. He rose the staff above his head for a moment- as though he were about to strike but he froze.

No, no. He couldn't falter. That was what would hurt him. Within the second of his own hesitation, he whipped the staff out towards Sweden. It was pathetic. It was nothing compared to his actual skills but at his current state- it was everything he could do to try and defile the nation who had left them.

Hey, we all were newbies so it's okay! I like this thread, too. stockholmblood October 16 2011, 12:07:32 UTC
Many people would ask Sweden "Why don't you just attack? Don't wait!", and in fact he hears some generals wonder why is he taking his time. Sweden is being pragmatic here, though. He himself isn't in the best shape and wants to takes some minutes to fully recover, knowing that Norway has other things in his mind by the moment; also, he wants to buy time for Finland to round up the troops and get ready for anything that may come.

He slowly walks towards his rival, his own long staff in his hand, and his dagger in its small beltbag. The spectacles are in his hand, and once he stops few feet away from Norway and Denmark, he tosses them to the ground and steps on them, as a signal that he won't hold back from now on.

"'m ready," he murmurs, staring at Norway seriously. This was the last stand: either he'd win or he'd die trying.
