[If he keeps poking around in rooms like that, he'll run into plenty of things. Lots of nonsense, rooms full of furniture fit for a giant or made of candy, or anything he could think of(or not think of.) Any large, double doors he stumbles upon lead to a library.]
[And eventually he runs into a Germany in one of those rooms, luckily one that didn't seem to be strange like the others, who'd been contently reading in solitude. Is a little startled when he hears the door open, not that he's doing anything suspicious!]
A-ah, Japan. Hello. [Gives him a nod in greeting.] . . .you look troubled. Is something the matter?
Ah. . .that. Yes, that's the truth! I-it's something like--believe me, you know none of us like to bring this up--well, r-remember last Christmas or, rather, the Christmas before. When the--the cat-eared Frances. . . . [Shudders thinking about it. Thinks that should be enough to remind you.] It's a little bit like then!
Of course it sounds suspicious! But it's the truth, as little sense as it makes! Ah. . .at first, it's rather difficult to tell them all apart, if you know enough of one person, but there are usually small differences--ones from different years dress or speak differently, some are younger or older than you're used to, some aren't nations at all. Unfortunately, you'll get used to it in time.
[D-don't start feeling faint just from the memory!]
You probably have plenty of time. No need to rush.
Ah, the basement. . . . I've not been myself, however it supposedly presents to you an illusion of some sort which causes your worst fear to come to life very vividly. It's easy enough to avoid, however.
Eh? I-I suppose there's the possibility, yes! Why are you saying basement, as though it's not really the basement floor? Why do you ask? You can't mean you want to go down there simply from a hunch!
I am simply suggesting that whoever brought us here could possibly be there, and that if we could find them we could gather a great deal of information about our predicament. I have a feeling this basement could merely be disguised as such...
...Isn't that what Germany-san often taught us to do during training? To assess the situation and gather intelligence on possible enemies?
I understand that! However people have been here for years, attempting to gain information or find a means of escape! If the basement were one of them, I'm sure someone would have known by now! I assure you, it's below ground level. Though the size and placement of many things in the building can be confusing, especially when you exit, the basement is the basement. The stairs descend from the ground floor.
It is! But I also taught you not to jump headfirst into a dangerous situation without gathering what you could beforehand! [Which shouldn't have needed to be taught but Italy.] Furthermore, what do you seek to accomplish if you do find someone responsible!? They brought us here from another dimension entirely along with a multitude of others, know and can manipulate our fears and thoughts and wills, so what makes you think they would be so compliant!? [He's not saying that they shouldn't try, of course not. Just that Japan's being rash(for once in his life.)]
[ straightens up and seems a bit embarrassed now ]
Ah, though I would not want to seem argumentative.
Perhaps we should change the subject?
[ he'll try to not be traumatized, but he can't guarantee anything, being that he's Japan a.k.a. = easily traumatized by even the silliest things. Like hugging ]
Ah, if you'd like to! What else do you need to know? Did Italy get you a room or show you how to get places yet!? [He'd hope Italy was responsible enough to do more than say "the basement is scary don't go in there." . . .]
Not really... does Germany-san have a recommendation?
[ he doesn't have much on him, just a travelling bag and his old katana that he doesn't even use much anymore. Somehow it wound up there with him despite this ]

Ah, Germany-san! Good evening. [ bows in greeting ]
Italy-kun told me you were here but he also said...
[ lowers his voice ]
E-eto... is it true there's copies of everyone here?
Doesn't that sound suspicious? As if we're caught in a conspiracy by an enemy?

[ but he's a Japanese man, he must keep his composure!! ]
It all sounds like a lot to take in, but I will attempt to become used to it in time, as you say, Germany-san.
Eto, would you perhaps know something about a ... basement area that's supposedly here?

That does not sound pleasant at all...
Germany-san... do you think perhaps whoever brought us here could be down in this "basement"?

[ but he bows ]
F-forgive me, perhaps I was being rash. I did not mean to argue with Germany-san.
[ pointedly doesn't say he won't still be checking out the basement ]

[That will never not be a little strange to him.]]
N-no, it's fine. It's not like I'm right all the time! Arguing is fine; that you intend to seek them out, if such a person exists, is your business.
[More power to him. Please don't get traumatized.]

[ NOPE ]
Could Germany-san perhaps show me to a room...?
[ the exhaustion is showing in his face. He's had a troublesome day ]

[Goddamn it Italy]
O-of course! We're on the second floor, so we should get up there quickly.
[Also he's old. Gets up and puts the book under his arm and exits the room to start leading him towards the elevator someone built some time ago.]
Do you have a floor preference? I'll try and get you a room near to the elevator, if you'd prefer a higher floor.
