[Docters have to keep up with knowledge on new diseases and medical discoveries and medicines and technologoies they could use. These are normally taught about in seminars and he like. Your education is never done, as a doctor. However, in HQ, Ludwig cannot attend such things like he's used to ( Read more... )

idk why I picked this muse but here you go. prussianpenguin March 3 2012, 23:31:34 UTC
[Gilbert is not really a library person, but he's been bored lately so he feels like exploring. Plus, in HQ, you never know what surprise you'll find hidden in these rooms!]

[As he pokes around the shelves, he seed Ludwig from a distance, and feels intrigued. This isn't his brother, he's sure- but a doctor? Interesting.]

[For a Gilbert you're certainly not making a lot of noise. He's rather mentally buried in the book(s), which is why he doesn't notice you yet.]

[At least it's good to know your brother is very successful in some other world?]

[His feelings are more akin to envy than anything else.]

[Startled a bit. Looks up--oh, a girl version of his brother. I don't recall him meeting one before, but he figures, anyway, since most people don't look much like his brother. Gives a polite nod and returns to the reading]

Recent medical discoveries and solutions. It's something I need to keep up on. [Don't be jelly, this is hard work.]

You're a doctor, huh? Interesting. [pulls out a chair and sits next to him.] My brother is just like you, but he's not a doctor.

[It's more like the envy that his brother is successful no matter what, and he's still a bottom-tier actor.]

Y-yes, I am. Doctor Ludwig Beilschmidt; rather nice to meet you. . . . ? It can be. . .fairly interesting. [It is now occurring to him that, sister from another world or not, this is a girl. Or, at the very least, looked like one. And because he couldn't look at her long enough to ensure that she was, in fact, female as far as he could tell(as he had some experience with having to do so on sight) he would simply have to stick with that. Curse his awkwardness around women.] Wouldn't that make him quite different from me, actually? Does your brother do anything interesting? [At least, with the knowledge that this was some female version of his brother, he could be less awkward.]

[Hey, he's still a bottom-tier actor only now. He's living in the present--who knows what the future holds!]

Gisela. Gisela Beilschmidt.

He's the president of the student council. [which isn't a lie, but isn't the whole truth either.] Same serious vibe, hiding in the library and everything.

Gisela, then. Very pleased to meet you. [Offers to shake your hand because for some reason doctors always do that.]

I-I'm not hiding! I'm studying! Ah, but, it's good to hear that he's succeeding and achieving such high marks. I'm sure everything is in order with him in such a position.

It's good to meet you too, even if we already have, in a sense. [shakes his hand.]

Mhm, that's what he says as well. I say he should get out more.

[He's out of his room, isn't he?] There's no point in saying such a thing if there's no place for him to go comfortably. . .but I'm sure he gets out plenty! [He could go to the library.]

[makes a face of mild disappointment]

You're right. He does. And he has fun, too...

E-exactly! Then there's no need to tell him to get out more!

. . .i-is something the matter?

Hm? Oh, it's nothing. I was just thinking- nevermind.

I don't think it's nothing. It's important you don't bottle what's bothering you inside. It'll do more harm than good, in most cases.

. . .my brother told me that; he's a psychologist, so I think he'd know what he's talking about.

A psychologist? I'm a psychologist in your world? [diversion tactics, go!]

[Frowns. Will get back on topic later, he will!] You are. Even if you lack common sense and I occasionally doubt your sanity, you're surprisingly competent when it comes to the workings of others' minds and helping them. M-my you, that is, not you!
