[Who's that staggering wandering the halls at such a late hour, singing Red Army Choir songs at the top of his lungs, bottle in hand?

Just your friendly neighborhood drunk, Russia.]

[This teenager pokes his head out of the library doorway.]

Sir? Are you alright?

[His head swivels around when he hears someone talking, and he nods, waving the bottle at you.]

Fine! Jus' going for walk.

I see. Would you, er... mind some company? [Mostly to try and keep him out of trouble, but as the Russian is almost double his height Ashley here might not be terribly successful.]

Company is good, very good, da. Do you want to drink? [He holds out the bottle helpfully.]

Ah, thank you, no. [What is underage.]

You're Ivan, correct? [It's for him to tell, in his world Ivan usually wears a cloak over himself.]

[Takes the bottle back and drinks from it.]

Ivan, Russia, da. You are Arthur.

Ashley. [He corrects.] It's an honour to meet you, sir.

Would you perhaps like something to eat?

Oh. So you are not England?

[Even in his drunken haze, he knows better than to eat anything prepared by someone with England's face, so he hesitates.]

Is there kitchen nearby?

[Shakes his head.] No.

[Actually this one cooks decently!]

I think so. I could make you something if you'd like? [If he eats it would help a little with tomorrow's hangover.]

England's cooking is awful. [He blurts it out without thinking.]

Is it? I haven't tried much of it before. I like scones. [Yes, he still has trouble connecting himself to Englands like that.]

I'm better at Japanese food, but I could perhaps give something Russian a try?

Horrible. His scones always look like....burned charcoal.

......can you make blini?

englishspring May 13 2011, 00:16:41 UTC
Really? Are they supposed to look like that? The ones I've had have always been pale.

Blini... [He taps his chin thoughtfully.] I've heard of that. Those are the ones like pancakes, aren't they? I could certainly give them a try if I found a recipe.

No. They are not normal scones. I have been told by France that they can actually melt holes in floor.

Da, like thin pancakes. They are best when served with honey and jam.

I've noticed that Francis has a tendancy to overexaggerate.

Sounds fairly simple. Why don't we find a kitchen and see what we can cook up. [Only really he's going to sit you in a chair and serve you tea so you don't burn anything, namely yourself.]

He does, but you wouldn't be saying that if you have ever tasted England's food.

[He smiles.] I will show you how to make blini!
