He hardly hears the sound of the sea fade from beyond his wide open window. No, he is far too occupied in his quiet musings and the little feast laid out before him. Succulent ham, fresh cheese, juicy olives, excellent sherry--what more can an Empire want

Spain? Big brother, is that you?
Reply
I am Spain, yes. And you are...?

Are you playing dress-up? It's me, Italy~. Ve, is forgetting me part of the game?

[At the mention of Italy, he returns the smile, though it looks a bit condescending. Just a tad]
What kind of joke is this? You are not Italy.
Reply
I've been Italy for a long time, ve. Unless you mean how I was the Republic. Ve! Or maybe you want me to be the Republic again? Ve, I was so small back then~.

[But anyway. He'll indulge him, he supposes. Spain doesn't really have anything to do and he's always open to some amusement]
Tell me more about yourself then, Italy. [He gestures toward the seat across him, his smile relaxed as he leans back and waits] What brings you here?

Thank you~. [May he share Spain's meal? It looked really good~.]
Ve, I only came over because I saw you wear those clothes and I thought, ve maybe you wanted to try on those clothes again!
Reply
[He can have some if he amuses Spain enough]
I always wear such clothes. [Eyes Italy's own clothes] I don't believe I've seen clothes like the ones you wear before...
Reply
I haven't seen you wear those clothes since I was little, ve. Mine? Vehehe, I only wear these when I'm going out to draw. They're old things, ve.
[The clothes are old and comfortable, the sort that were perfect for sitting on wet grass and not care if they got messy. There are spots of paint on his shirt where his apron hadn't covered. Had he known he was going to be transported to some... place he would have worn much better clothes.]

Ah, so you're an artist? [He leans in a bit closer, interested]
[It's a casual setting, more or less. Spain doesn't mind that much, really]

[Spain only needed to ask~. But Veneziano sees his interest and hands over his sketchbook. It's filled mostly with things he sees everyday: cats, dogs, people buying groceries, Romano sleeping, Spain cooking in the kitchen, Germany working in his office ...and few things he sees once in a while like Prussia and his bird, Turkey by the sea, a sunset over Madrid, a great big bull...]

You've got talent, Italy.
[He smiles at the things he has drawn, impressed. Especially the people. Familiar-looking people...]

[There are some sketches for Renaissance-esque art as well. Veneziano smiles and points to one of the pages of the sketchbook, of Spain and Romano picking tomatoes. It's more of a sketch page, really, since there are bigger and fuller drawings of Romano. There's a secret hiding in his eyes and a bright expression on his face.]
Ve, I was planning on giving you this one, when it was finished. I know you asked that I just draw the tomatoes for you, ve, but I thought you'd want to see what I saw.

I see...

[Spain seems cold... he's not sure why and it's starting to worry him...]
Reply
[He sets the sketchbook aside and smiles at "Italy"]
What else do you do... Italy?
