The Common room was primed and ready. Makeshift lanterns were lit in the corners, and electric lights were set up. Room had been made for dancing and there were cushions all over for city, and coffee tables arranged for meals and drinks and tea

Wash stuck his head through the door, looking for the source of the music, "Music, clear space and it's dark... someone having a party?"

Jim looks up at Wash from his spot in the cushions.

"Music night."

[wash_drives]

"Oooh, music." Wash plopped himself down on a cushion next to Jim to watch.

[apocalypsejim]

"You play anything?"

This is such a guy conversation. Expressing stuff in as few syllables as possible.

"I can sing off-key."

[apocalypsejim]

"Yeahmetoo... Probably better if we don't."

For some reason, it makes him grin impishly.

"Know any good songs?"

[wash_drives]

He grinned back, "Some rather dirty ones, but they're all in Chinese... What about you? You must have learned some from the army."

[apocalypsejim]

"There wasn't a lot of singing going on. Unless you count screaming in agony and fear 'singing.' Which I don't."

[wash_drives]

mmmmm, that went well.

"So neither of us can sing.... can you play anything?"

[apocalypsejim]

There's a thoughtful pause.

"I play poker."

It's not music, and therefore somewhat random. But he's like that.

He perked up, "Me too. There's gotta be some cards around here..."

[apocalypsejim]

"Nice. We gotta find some and start a game night."

[wash_drives]

Wash grinned, "Some poker, some beer. Something to gorram DO!"

[apocalypsejim]

"There's got to be some cards at the mall. We could clean them out."
