The Mallfront is on.
Somewhere, not too far from the apartments, but far enough for it to take some time to find, there is a mall complex.
It looks like any other shopping mall -- light brown exterior, colored roofings, and advertisement signs, along with its huge parking lot.
Except for the windworn look the whole place has, signs tipped and other things fallen and broken, lights imploded and the sun doesn't shine there any more than it would anywhere else, remaining in its state of cloudy glare.
In the front doorway of this abanoned mall, there is a smallish girl of around sixteen, graceful in her ways but maybe not so in her mind, and she's petting the head of a likely-familliar dog.
