Kaylee really really misses Mal and Jayne. Really.
It kinda sucks that they're all together here, but that they're not all together, because people are going off on quests without her, and that there's all these other people, which is shiny, Kaylee likes people, but there's just not the nine eight of them on Serenity together. She has Simon and River, and work to be doing, but sometimes days will go by and she won't even talk to Inara or Wash at all.
That ain't right.
But it's work that's important right now, 'fore they can persuade the cap'n that it's not going to work, Kaylee's at least going to try, so he can't tell her she didn't make the effort.
