[[ooc: Yet another Azula's still alive post. I'm sorry for my lack of activity, but the baby really does a number on me when I'm sick. After I get back, there will be a Harley post as well.]]Boredom, until someone decided what exactly was going on, Azula found herself stuck in the box. Bored ( Read more... )

Being new to the compound, Slade is wandering around and seeing the sights. He must admit that he's curious when he sees a seemingly out of place concrete box sitting outside of the apartments.

He wanders up to it and runs a gloved hand across the side before approaching one of the windows. "My, what do we have here?" he says, glancing at the young girl as she played with the fire.

"You're new," Azula said looking up at the window, flicking flame between her fingers. No precept of politeness touched her voice, still thick with the better-than-thou noble accent as she demanded, "Who are you?"

"Such proud, biting words from someone trapped like a rat in a cage," he mutters, running his hand across the box again. His voice is as stoic as ever. "Slade. Now it would be only polite if you'd return the favor and tell me what obviously grand, important individual would be stuck in a concrete box in the middle of nowhere."

Hellboy sat some distance away, with his lunch and a thick book.

He watched the strange man and most definitely listened, tail twitching.

(What, you thought Azula went unguarded? Think again.)

Slade notes the rather large, strange-looking man in the distance. If this girl needed someone like that, she must be someone fairly powerful and dangerous.

And since he's not ready to reveal his true intentions, he'll keep the conversation simple for now.

At the taunt fire flared then subdued as she pushed her temper down. After all, it didn't do her any good right now. A look of bored distraction crossed her face, though it was more of a ruse than anything, she didn't enjoy this.

"Why am I here? My brother's a fool, that's why I'm here. No one here has an appreciation for accidents."

So she is a pyrokinetic. A useful ability, for sure.

"Oh? Sibling rivalry, I presume? Kids these days just can't get along." He steps away from the box and puts a finger to his chin in thought. "I imagine that your accident involved that remarkable ability of yours."

Fire danced between her fingers, "Why would it? I'm here because someone can't follow simple instructions and brewed a very bad cup of tea. My brother over reacts."

It's not hard to put two and two together. "People tend to take it personally when you try to kill them. Or someone close to them. Apparently your plan was rather bad if this is what became of you."

"I didn't try to kill anyone," Azula said simply, looking as bored as possible. As far as she was concerned, given the birth of her target, she really didn't try to kill anyone.

Anyone worthwhile. "After all, they would have to prove it first."

"It hardly matters what you think. If you get caught, at least. Which you obviously did." Slade begins to pace back and forth, keeping an eye on Hellboy. "You have the spirit. We're all fortunate that you're not more knowledgeable about the trade, I suppose."

Her face contorted slightly, her temper flared. If she didn't know the place was now fire proofed, she would've tried to kill him then and there. "Trust me, 'Slade' was it? If I wanted someone dead, they would be dead."

"This is all an inconvenience and a misunderstanding."

"Then did you succeed?" It's a simple, but loaded question. He ignores her repeated statements about this just being a misunderstanding.

She frowned. She didn't like to focus on the set back. It may not have worked this time, but it would work next time. She considered this a learning experience and filed it away. "Succeed at what? Making my brother even more paranoid? If that was my goal then I seem to have done a very good job; even though that wasn't my intent."

"Well, I must admire your ability to turn anything into a victory," he remarks. In fact, that trait reminds him of himself. This girl has potential. "Perhaps I misjudged you. I would certainly hate to face someone of your obvious wit and intelligence."

"And I shudder to think how much more dangerous you would be if you were to learn from someone who knew about evading capture. Truly a dark day for heroes everywhere."

For a moment she wasn't able to figure out if it was an insult or compliment. For a moment she wore her emotions on her face before taking a moment to bury them. "A dark day for heroes? I'm hardly the villain here," Azula said simply.

"Though heroes are nothing more than people who simply don't respect the proper order of things," Azula said simply. And people should respect order. Her order.
