Giles was still out of it, somewhat, but being treated in the infirmary. Has to look a bit better at this point. Probably going to need a few days to recuperate. Likely to at least be conscious again soon for visitors.

Buffy steps in quietly, scanning the room.

"Giles? Giles!"

She tries to rush and tiptoe to his side at the same time; her failure is spectacular. "Someone said you were -- what happened?"

Giles was murmering in his sleep.

His eyes fluttered a little.

"...Buffy?" He faintly rasped out.

Her voice wavers. "Giles?"

She swallows, hard; steadies it. "I -- I shouldn't wake you --"

He blinked a little, but there was a faint smile of comfort.

"It's all right. I was foolish, got seperated from the Quest group. Damned duststorm."

She's trying very hard to keep her voice under control; as a result, it sounds nasal. "What happened? A dust storm?"

"Your hand --"

"It's nothing really." He weakly replied.

"Was lost, wandering. Somehow managed to come back here."

"I should've found you."

Buffy swallows again, and forces the little girl panic down.

He looks awful.

"Do you need anything? A, a bedpan? Or food? I could get you food."

"You didn't know, I'll be all right. At least I didn't hit my head this time." He joked slightly.

He added, "Maybe just a little something, thank you. Some biscuits." He was being tended to, but he knew it was better if Buffy felt she was doing something. Knowing how much she hated feeling helpless or unable to do anything to help.

And true to form, she looks relieved.

"Biscuits. Right. -- Like cookies? Is that English for cookies?"

watcher_g_man September 16 2006, 04:24:43 UTC
"Yes, you would call them cookies."

"I'll be right back," she says, and, absurdly, "Don't go anywhere."

Those cookies don't stand a chance.

"-- Tea? Do you want tea?"

"Wouldn't dream of it, and yes, some tea would be nice, thank you."

It's at least fifteen minutes before she returns, and if her face bears suspicious signs of washing, well, maybe it was dirty.

She peeks in.

"You're still awake and everything? I couldn't find Englishy tea so I made green." Brightly: "But I bet green tea is better for you. Vegetables are green."

"That's fine, it'll do." Too weak to argue, and it's the end of the world. Not like supplies were easy to get anyway.

"Here." She pours a cup, blows on it, and holds it out carefully. "Can you lift your head? I don't want to spill it, it's pretty hot."

Giles slowly struggled to sit up, and then took the cup. He slowly sipped it.
