Johnny was in the Common Room again. Surprisingly, a bit yes, trying once again to not be such a hermit and continuing his Mandarin studies. He was sitting on one of the couches with his silver topped cane resting on the armrest by him.

Sounding out some of the Chinese words to himself.

"Jia ren...Zhen shan mei"

"Talking to yourself... a valid lifestyle of choice." Oz sat on the couch, his gze floating around the large room. "Don't let me disturb."

Johnny glanced, and there was a brief rueful look at the comment.

He then said, "Just sounding out some of the Mandarin. Tricky to get the prounciation right. Need to make sure I'm saying beauty, and not something insulting instead. At least for this set of words I'm working on."

"Mandarin? Interesting." Oz said calmly. "Gonna tell somebody they're beautiful?"

Another amused look, "Maybe someday, but right now, that's just the set of words I'm working on. Already went through ju xi, and duo da. Big or small, or how big or how much."

"So what's the what with you learning Mandarin, if it's okay to ask."

"Sure I don't mind," Johnny remarked.

He then explained, "Well, you've seen how most of the books around here are, right? Most of them aren't in English, and if I want to teach again in the classroom here with some of the books, I'll need to translate it for my students."
