[From here.]

Everybody inside, said House, and they went.

At this point, the infirmary is empty save for those who may be ill or sleeping (like Mel), and its peaceful silence is broken upon the entrance of Greg House, River Tam, Erin Fray and a newcomer with a gunshot wound.

River is looking very guilty, and just a little bit scared.

It's a coincidence, that Simon happens to come along to check on Mel so that Tris can sleep.

He is not expecting what he finds.

"River? What happened?"

"Oh, good. I don't have to patch this one. He's all yours, Tam."

House points at Simon. "You will let him treat you. He's a doctor, even if he's too young and pretty to look it." Did anyone doubt that Simon was called 'Chase' when he wasn't listening?

Glancing back to Simon, House grins cheerily. "He's all yours."

River stares up at Simon, and then at House -- he's leaving her to explain this alone? -- and her only consolation is the presence of Erin before she says, quietly, to her brother.

"Shot him. Didn't mean to."

Well, not if you look at him like THAT he won't be! Sigh. House rolls his eyes and goes to take a seat on the couch and rub his thigh.

His leg hurts. Really.

Preston's going with not saying anything at this point. Casting a stupid look in House's direction-he peers at Simon. Simon-looks more like the type of doctors he's used to?

And he's not yelling?

Preston withdraws his hand from the wound and grimaces. Not in pain, but distaste. Ick. Sticky.

Simon is... a little torn, but River doesn't seem to need immediate attention and, well... Preston does.

"Let me see your arm."

Preston's still got his Clerical Coat on.

He offers it to the doctor with a frown, "...I'm not seriously damaged."

"You were shot", he points out. "At the very least, it'll need cleaning and dressing, and maybe stitches. If the bone isn't damaged."

Preston raises a brow. He's been taught to comply with the medical officers.

Sighing, Preston unbuttons his coat with his good hand, and does his best to pull it off-despite the struggling.

Simon sighs and steps round to help him get the coat off.

"Now... let's see this wound."

The wound's probably buried deep, but it looks worse then it actually is. Might've even stopped bleeding.

It's torn through his coat and his shirt, gray and dark brown. Ick.

It Should be painful. Least it looks like it should be painful.

Simon hisses at the sight of it, then looks up at Preston in confusion.

"Doesn't that hurt? You said it wasn't serious."

Preston raises a eyebrow, "...It's not severe enough to impede my capabilities."

Might notice something weird in thte way he talks.

Heedless of the rest of the company in the room, preston sighs and does his best to remove his shirt.

Preston's gonna feel that when his Prosium runs out.

"There might be pieces of fabric in the wound. I'm going to have to clean it thoroughly."

"...Yes sir."

Preston extends his arm-shirt hanging off it limply.

His coat is dropped on the floor with a loud clunk. That might get some attention.

River jumps.

And then tilts her head, eyeing the coat curiously. Something's in there, or it's filled with magnets.
