At this point, the infirmary is empty save for those who may be ill or sleeping (like Mel), and its peaceful silence is broken upon the entrance of Greg House, River Tam, Erin Fray and a newcomer with a gunshot wound.
River is looking very guilty, and just a little bit scared.

"River? What happened?"

House points at Simon. "You will let him treat you. He's a doctor, even if he's too young and pretty to look it." Did anyone doubt that Simon was called 'Chase' when he wasn't listening?
Glancing back to Simon, House grins cheerily. "He's all yours."

Preston withdraws his hand from the wound and grimaces. Not in pain, but distaste. Ick. Sticky.

He offers it to the doctor with a frown, "...I'm not seriously damaged."

Sighing, Preston unbuttons his coat with his good hand, and does his best to pull it off-despite the struggling.

"Now... let's see this wound."

It's torn through his coat and his shirt, gray and dark brown. Ick.
It Should be painful. Least it looks like it should be painful.

"Doesn't that hurt? You said it wasn't serious."

Might notice something weird in thte way he talks.
Heedless of the rest of the company in the room, preston sighs and does his best to remove his shirt.

"There might be pieces of fabric in the wound. I'm going to have to clean it thoroughly."

Preston extends his arm-shirt hanging off it limply.
His coat is dropped on the floor with a loud clunk. That might get some attention.

And then tilts her head, eyeing the coat curiously. Something's in there, or it's filled with magnets.
