He's glad of these little disruptions while he's filling time. Harth is insane, and unsalvageable. Beckett is too powerful to try to maneuver. So it's the slow way of earning trust

Shucks and other comments. Revan knew he was getting a partner today, but he didn't figure it would #2 on his Threat-O-Meter.
So while he calls out with a polite "Hey there," his mind is frantically whirring what this could mean. Has Wesker found out? Was this a way of getting him alone so he could dispose of him? Was this just a fluke of the roster? Was there any way to turn this to his advantage.
Shucks? Aw. Someone's thinking that's a worse curse than it actually is.
"Decan. Good evening." Wesker reaches up to the rosary around his neck. "How's your work been?" He reaches up to the gate, although he makes no move to leave first. "I've seen nothing of interest, so far."
He does seem as though he's been under strain, doesn't he?
Well, DOESN'T HE? Oh, you wily Jedi. Just appreciate the acting, okay?
Wesker pauses, as if waiting for just another instant to see if Decan will go first, then steps through. He doesn't look back as he closes the gate. Which means Decan might get clipped if he didn't look slippy.
Decan slips through with a nimble slide, but doesn't look like he noticed almost getting shut in the door. "So, is there any particular area you think we need to concentrate on or is this just a general sweep of the area?"
Awww, he's defering to Wesker's judgement. Or he's just waiting to see if Wesker gives up a possible murder location. Revan is trixxy today.
"Yesterday's patrol was Buffy's--no, wait, she was changed unexpectedly." Wesker frowns. "I don't remember who took hers, or I'd know their usual route." Great, Wesker's studying people! "I suppose that means: pick a direction."
"There's as good a place as any," he replies, pointing vaguely in the direction of where the Farm used to be. "I haven't patrolled there in awhile and as far as I know it doesn't get a lot of traffic."
Lies. Decan's gone there several times in a futile and kinda sad attempt to find any trace of the escape pod he fell in. He's chosen that direction as he knows the terrain fairly well and can escape and evade if required.
Wesker follows his pointing finger, looking skeptically at the wall in the way. "Very well." He starts walking, shoulders drawn up a little defensively. He falls completely silent as they turn a corner, out of sight of the apartments.
Revan forces a casual shrug. He's wishing he had brought his only grenade for stuffing down Wesker's shirt while pulling the pin and running. As it is, he has to keep himself from clutching his rifle for security.
If anything, Revan stiffens for an instant, then it all flows away and he's just walking. He still looks wary, but whatever was bothering him seemed to be gone.
"That's just what I'll need after this. Caffiene. Even if it's Faye's coffee," he says, voice wry. A joke. Surely somebody who jokes with you is not secretly planning on killing you someday.
"You're not used to coffee? Hers isn't bad. I'm just dreading the day someone makes a Spam and ramen special." Surely somebody who jokes with you is not secretly planning on killing you someday!
Revan is really starting to get an inkling of how deep the game he's playing is. It's frightening.
And exciting.
"We didn't have the exact stuff in the Republic, but there was something similar. I kept mostly away from it as loading up on stimulants was the last thing I needed along with the other stresses of leading a squad."
It is. Isn't it? Wesker lives by it. Doubtless he'll die by it, one day. Will Revan?
Wesker's smile is friendly, equal to equal. "It's not easy, is it? And you never know how they'll react when trouble hits." A mournful quality just entered his voice, and he looks away. "But we've been down this road before. Literally. Pick a direction?"

"Uneventful. Harth and his buddies have been lying low since that beating we threw him."
And Revan's acting skills come into play, though the annoyance and frustration is easy to mimic when it's rooted in truth.
