No battle stories since this one was no fighter.

Seer, teacher, father, yes. But not that kind of fighter.

He was also reading, continuing to struggle with the Mandarin characters. He noticed the other man, but in the casual way of noticing someone you don't know. He had seen him around, but never spoke.

His cane was propped on the arm of the chair by him, silver top gleaming.

Wesker has been busy, or, at least, keeps up an air of being busy and absorbed in his own affairs. He's also been out for about a week, surviving on his own before lack of water drove him back. Small wonder he hasn't spoken.

Now he's putting together clues, and still failing to recognise this man as anyone he's heard of. So he looks up, holding his place, and inquires, "good book?"

Because back home in his world, Johnny's abilities had put him into something of a hermit mode. Here, there wasn't as many options to do so with the close quarters, but he tried to stay out of the way unless he was needed.

He glanced over, and shrugged, "I'll let you know when I can understand complete sentences of it."

Hm. What can be done with this? Wesker isn't sure--besides, of course, the basic "on friendly terms with one more person."

"I'm fortunate. At one point, I had the luxury of time to study other languages. Is there anything you're stuck on?"

Buffy wanders in, rubbing a hand across her temples.

She straightens when she takes in the non-emptiness of the room. "Oh, hey. Mind if I -- ?"

"Of course not," Wesker responds immmediately. He settles a little further on the couch. "I believe I saw you out there. You left the gates before I did. I'm glad you returned safely."

She blinks, and says, "Oh, with the Magog things? Yeah, I'm feeling pretty unambiguously good about the safe thing myself."

The armchair is claimed in the name of the United . . . Limbs of Buffy. Or something. "Don't take this the wrong way, but why sunglasses?"

Buffy is comparatively low on the People to Eliminate in the Name of Power list. Wesker doesn't bother smiling. "It was most unexpected. I was showing someone new in, but he adapted quickly enough."

And don't think Wesker wasn't watching the Jedi deal with the Magog. Anakin ranks over Buffy. Wesker doesn't like Force choke. "I developed an eye condition years ago."
