Heading out to 'scout'

Jul 29, 2006 02:29

The light is just changing from dark to dim as Lara pulls on her pack, double checks her guns, knives and stakes, and heads outside the wall. She's working systematically, scouting the area for miles around the complex in preparation for this quest.

Be at Peace, Lara my Love.

Something has changed. Affected you in some way, driven you to be distracted.

I want to see what local ground sources tell me before I galavant off.

Lara my Love.

Game. On.

This place is stripping her bare of all her defenses. Being close to people like this, struggling just to survive, needing the reassurance that she isn't truly alone, all these things are making her weak. Making her doubt herself.

Lara stops from time to time to check her compass and add details to the map she's creating as she goes. Throwing herself into work helps the voices quiet down to a whisper, as does the solitude. She's used to working alone. Used to being alone. She certainly doesn't need the complications that are most likely still asleep back in their apartments.

Stay. You need ... to be able to relax. To be able to be happy. I... I think I can help you in that.

Come back to me?

Be at Peace.
