Between traing with Jack and writing class with Iroh, Mel heads home. She's feeling a lot better these days, except for a general ache where she's growing out, and has stuck to keeping her pants slung low beneath her belly, leaving the scar and stretch marks clear for all to see

Zuko is home shortly after! He has been busy, but now he's kinda tired. He tires mor easily now --but he' doing better! He is doing that work out thing and the exercise thing and---

--fighting with Sokka. A lot. But that doesn't bear mentioning. (Well, it is in that it's sort of shot his libido to crap the last few days.)

But he comes in while she's napping and since the couch doesnt comfortably fit them both anymore, hobbles for the bedroom and flops in there.

Nap sounds good.

Naps are good. Mel really enjoys hers at least, waking slowly as Zuko hobbles inm and rising naturally to full wakefulness. So with a full stretch she pulls herself up and wanders in to check on him, leaning against the door and just watching him sleep for a few seconds.

Zuko is not a deep sleeper; he rouses within a few minutes; there is a point of heat, of breath, there at the edge of his 'vision' and it draws him up out of slumber within a few minutes.

"Nngh?"

Hi honey!

"Hey," she says lightly and pads in the rest of the way. Sure, she hadn't meant to wake him, but she's used to his light sleeping.

"You OK?"

Sleeping during the day is normal in this family.

Well, not for Zuko, really-- daylight, bending, sun's energy.

"Mmhmm. Just been--busy." He shifts on the bed, scoots over, makes space. Come, flop with him. He will gladly cuddle till nobody wants to move.

Kay. She can do that, rolling easily into his arms even though she's well napped, thanks. Maybe this will result in some of that sex she's been missing the last couple of days.

"Busy doing what?"

"Trying to help get the greenhouse stuff finalized so we can start construction," Zuko mumbles as he curls up. Mm, warm tangled. Good. Relaxing.

[grabber_fray]

"Rocketship," she says, pulling his arm around and pressing it to her belly. You never know, there may be kicking. And if there is, he may be able to feel it this time.

"We nearly ready?"

He would like kicking. He always seems to miss it.

"Getting very close. And we had a new arrival... who brought plants. All these vegtables. So as we eat them we're collecting the seeds. He had a whole-- cart full, Mel. A grocer in his car!"

And that's why there's stuff in the kitchen, you know. Being stored by the windows to keep cool and fresh.

OK, that's gonna interrupt the spooning right there, and pregnant girl's gonna try and roll around to face him.

"Your kidding? Real food? Fresh food? Like not from cans?"

Someone's never had fresh food in her life.

"Yes. And he gave me a bag to bring to you," he says, and grins. "You want to try apples or oranges first? We can try and be adventurous and cook some of the greens later, too..."

[grabber_fray]

"Apples?" Now she's pushing away to get out of the bed. "Oranges? Oh my god! Where are they?"

Zuko laughs, and gestures. "Kitchen, in the bags lining the windows, keeping them cold!"

And now he hobbles after her.

Mel hardly waits for him, hurrying to the kitchen excitedly with him in tow.

It doesn't take long for her to locate the bag and shake it open, pulling out the first thing that comes to hand - an orange, as a matter of fact.

"Rocketship!"

"You know how to peel them?" Zuko asks, before e goes to get into the bag-- he's a little awkward, what with less fingers, but he can still use his thumb to break he peel and strip and orange down.

[grabber_fray]

"Peel?" Mel lifts it up and frowns at it, digging a thumbnail in curiously, but with enough force to cause juice to squirt right out and hit her in the face.

"Ack!"
