Bobby pins.
Rose had to have a bobby pin, and that, in its extreme brass simplicity, would make an excellent substitute for a destabilizer clip, which his transistor amplifier would require in order to work properly.
It wasn't an excuse to check on her, or to simply talk to someone. Really. He'd thought about going back and listening to Harper's transmitter...but it was fairly unlikely that he'd learn anything new there.
And Harper was right about him needing to talk to her. Stupid apes with their stupid emotional needs. Several regenerations ago, he was almost as sappy as the rest of them, now he was simply irritated that everything couldn't be easier. It was never this hard with TimeLadies---but, in general, they were also Ice Queen primadonnas and horrifically boring.
Taking a deep breath, he rapped his knuckles on the door to Rose's apartment.
