He'd eventually settled in Room 1002; up high and far away enough, and also commanding a view of the front and side of the building. Whoever had lived here before - whenever before was - had been, apparently, something of a fan of pink drapery.

Also, flowery bedspreads.

Those he might need for warmth; he's shaken most of the dust out of them, and left a pile on the bed in the main room. The curtains are glared at, but left untouched, ragged and dirty as they are. The fewer signs of occupation visible from outside, the better.

He sweeps the dresser clear of ornaments, tossing them across the hall into the next room, and drops his helmet there. That's it, for domesticity; the electricity and water don't seem to reach up this far, and he could use a drink.

He heads down to the fifth floor, dropping from windowsill to windowsill - quicker than stairs - and then in through an abandoned room and down the stairs towards 202.
