He's tempted to run from it; there's a little voice in the back of his brain that says this can't end well... but there's a whole lot more of him reminding him that she'd called him 'brother'. That his mother had asked him to look out for her, be kind to her.
I'm feeling protective-brothery feelings for the Hawk King of the 3rd Demon Army. What the hell?
