of Jena-Auerstedt. Bonus for beaten up Prussia. If you prefer the
other way around, you can represent the Siege of Paris during the
Franco-Prussian war (well.. a simplified version of it).

Prompt: The battle of Poltava was fought in 1709, during the Great Northern
War. Sweden was waging war against Denmark, Poland, and Russia at
once, and allied with the Ukrainian cossacks. At Poltava, they
suffered an epic defeat against Russia, which marked the end for
Ukraine's dreams of independence, and the beginning of an end for the
Swedish empire.
So I'm suggesting a Poltava-related picture of the two - just before
the battle and still hopeful, or during it taking a heroic last stand,
or immediately after, utterly defeated.
