Dear Yuletide Author...
You are awesome! Thank you for signing up! I hope you'll have as much fun writing your story as I will reading it.
I don't have any triggers, but incest, any form of non-consensual sexual activity, and violence that's romanticized/eroticized/free-of-consequence are major squicks that I'd prefer not to receive. Apart from that, I'm likely to be delighted by any story in the fandom we've matched on, so if you've already got a fantastic idea, please have at it.
If you want a little more to go on: In general, I like: banter, found families, characters meeting long odds and grim realities with gallows humor, women kicking ass literally and/or metaphorically, characters who can own their mistakes even (especially) as they can't stop making them, endings that are not hopeless even when they fall short of vanilla happy. I will always be a sucker for second-person or for an outsider POV.
Mercy:
I love Veronica for being so good at caring for her patients while being so terrible at taking care of herself. I love Mike for being such a decent guy, despite all his flaws. I love that they can't stop being family, even when they have to quit being married. I love Sonia for being such a misanthropic hard-ass... on the surface. I love Chloe because, fuck you and the bad news you come bearing, she is OPTIMISTIC! Any slice-of-life set at the hospital, the bar, or the Flanagan home is something I will love and squeeze and call George.
Hart of Dixie:
Everything about this show (except perhaps how hard it tries to get me to ship Zoe with George Tucker!) makes me ridiculously happy. In particular, I love that Lemon and Zoe have come to grudgingly respect each other, even if they may never be friends. I love that the drama comes almost entirely from character relationships and that only a few of those are romantic or potentially so. I love Mayor Hayes' long-suffering kindness (and his wardrobe!) and Bluebell's oddball social calendar and the poorly-kept secret that Wade's actually a pretty great guy. I love that it's part fish-out-of-water story and partly one about history and the people and places you come from. I love that all of the characters are willing/able to make amends for their occasional jerky behavior in awkward-but-sincere fashion (and to forgive that jerkiness in their friends and neighbors). I would love some Lemon-Wade friendship fic that draws on their shared history as teenage hellions. Or any fic at all about Lavon and how he loves Bluebell. Or shippy Zoe/Wade fic that avoids both love-triangle shennanigans and George-bashing. Or, or, or - I think you get the idea that I really love it all!
Human Target:
I really appreciate this show as a fun, flashy version of my favorite story: "broken people give each other a home and a purpose". I love the team as family - frustrating, warm, dependable, willing to call you on your shit. Any canon character finding him/herself in the snarky embrace of their warped little clan of misfit toys - and whining about it, because these are not people who are good at letting themselves be taken care of and because that's how they show affection - would be a treat. I also love that the women who come to Chance et. al. for help are capable and strong and smart enough to know when they need help. They may be in danger, but they are never damsels. Outsider POV from one of them (canon or OC, either one!) would be awesome!

I like John best when he's playing for stakes somewhat smaller than the fate of the entire world, and being a more decent guy than he wants to let on while he does it. My favorite HB stories involve John trying to remediate the consequences of something he did when he was too young/stupid/frightened/bored/cocky/desperate to care. I love Gemma, and hate how poorly Milligan's run on the comic has treated her. I love to see Chas rewarded for the mostly-thankless job of being John's friend. Outsider POV (monster, aspiring chancer, hapless mark, grateful victim, mental health professional, terrified bystander, take your pick) on Constantine would be awesome!
