Ugh... this is something I think about often.
As a mother, I cannot believe the immense and endless responsibility of raising a child.
It always reminds me of the line from the movie Parenthood, where Keanu Reeves' character has a moment of clarity talking about the fact that you need a liscence to drive a car, a liscence to own a dog, hell, even a liscence to catch a fish... but anybody can be a parent.
Do I think the government should have the right to say who should/shouldn't procreate? No... but I think there should be a hell of a lot more education out there for people looking to have kids. They need to know what it really involves before they go ahead and make a decision that holds the life of a child in jeopardy.
