Okay. I know hardly anyone on my f-list is a broadway dork or fangirls Bernadette Peters like she is THE GREATEST THING EVER, but when something makes me weep, I must share it!
See, I'd post the original scene from this play where these two first discovered AWESOME together, but youtube deletes everyone who uploads it (because they hate BEAUTY). Suffice it to say, these two actors sang this, the last full song in Sunday in the Park with George, about thirty years ago and it was beautiful. Here we are, three decades later at Sondheim's birthday and they sing it again and it is still f*cking gorgeous!!!
BTW, Bernadette? I want to steal your hair for my own. And Mandy, your voice has gained a sort of resonance with the years. And your mutual chemistry is undimmed and you still make me cry like a bitch and I WANT TO HAVE BABIES WITH THIS SONG.
Suffice it to way, these two people are awesome and you should strive to BE THEM.
