Life is not too bad these days

So I've been awful about keeping up... again. I really thought fall would be a lull, work-wise, but now I've got more restaurants I sing at and I have to do so much as far as promoting the gigs and trying to get butts in seats and then there's Christmas prep and just making sure I have the cds ready and making new, Christmassy promo postcards... I feel like even my "weekends" are full of work. The crazy part I am watching pretty much no TV and STILL have no time!

And I know that real life stuff comes before internet life, but I really do want to manage my time better so I can still be active with y'all and update my fics/finish the damned things in a more timely manner. I'm resolving to do better!

So I'm still going through my f-list for this month, catching up with you guys and your doings (when I have anything to add, that is).

Just wanted to make sure I said thank you for all the birthday pms and entries! I think I replied on each, but I just wanted to say so here as I felt super loved!

I had a nice Birthday, even bought a new dress from ModCloth (best clothing site ever) as a present to meeeee. I've been transitioning out of red, hair-wise, to get back to my natural color, which is more dirty blonde, just to try for a while. And I got myself this adorable compact vacuum (shown next to a potholder for size comparison). It's like a toy vaccuum that works!

Then, for Halloween, Uncle Mike and I went to one of his neighbor's parties. I was my childhood idol, Miss Piggy, which was so simple as I had everything except the Pig ears and nose and wig. I outright FORCED Uncle Mike to dress up. I threw together a lab coat, a wig, and yellow rubber gloves I had, then found a dust mask in his garage, then put some makeup on him to make him a mad scientist. He whined the whole time I was doing his makeup, like dressing up for Halloween is so undignified, so I told him he could take it off as soon as I got him with the dry-ice punch (seen below, though the smokiness doesn't come out as well in the pic. It was cooler live). But he left it on the whole time, so I think he secretly liked having a costume for a change, not that he'll admit it.

Things are going well. As I said above, I've been all busy getting myself together for Christmas, I have lots of parties and some new restaurants. I had a broadway star encounter at the fancy, Italian place I sing at, but that needs its own post. I read French Women Don't Get Fat, courtesy of marikology, and have lost eight pounds in 2 weeks with some changes that seem really small. I think the main thing it's done is change the way I think about food. I'm down to 1/2 a pack a day and sometimes less, between wellbutrin and ecigs.

I'll post more on all the above at some point this week. :)

Best of all, Uncle Mike's scans showed no further growth or spreading of the cancer and his PSA has actually gone down, so he does not have to go back on hormone therapy for now. Next scans are in February, so we'll see where things stand then. But it's so nice to go into the holidays with good news instead of bad. :)
