internet and sleep do not get along.

is it wrong that i waited-- with as much anticipation as 8 yr old needing to pee-- the aquisition of a Linotype CD containing over 3,700 fonts? because oh man, FONTS! no doubt an ASS-LOAD of them. all on two golden discs that await my molestation! who wants dibs on this?! i know you're out there murmurder & librium-- you little typography sluts.
anyhow, christmas is rearing it's deformed head around the corner, and the aftermath of my holiday shopping has left me with merely $2.22 in my checking account. the next few days leading up to another paycheck do not look entertaining in the least; in order to save $$$ and resources, i am forced to alter my regular routine of laying face down on the floor, to simply becoming non-existent.
also, i have an job interview with the art director of pasadena weekly this friday, and apprently i am lacking two important things for my interview:
1. articulation in speech when conversing with important people.
2. a portfolio.

obviously the latter is extremely vital, where as the aforementioned is as tangible as time travel. with all jokes aside, does anyone have advice on portfolios for prospective illustration jobs? i used to show clients my livejournal, but that routine got old fast (was it the 'apeshit'-- who knows?) do i need to buy a shiny metal binder? do i have to make slides? more importantly, can anyone hook a girl up with some crank? i need to get through the interview as quickly as possible with little to zero recollection of how the whole thing went.
