I don't understand why my professor for my 12:30 class always decides to organize trips at 1:00, at whatever uptown destination. I have a 2:00 class. So, I went to my stupid lecture (and actually learned some things about Crimes and Misdemeanors that are cool) at 11:00 and then afterwards walked straight to the subway station to get to the New York Historical Society. Oh, and I left my phone under my pillow. I'm making good time, until I realize that I'm on the A train which runs express to 125th Street after 50th Street. For whatever reason, I didn't know that. Great, so I'm at 125th Street and it's 1:00 and I have to get to 79th Street. I take the C downtown and make it to the 79th Street stop at 1:15. I'm walking, and I realize that where I think I need to go is where the Museum of National History is. I was clearly wrong. Then who do I see walking towards me but Andrew Lott. So I talk to him for a minute and am about to give up and go back to my dorm. I have a great idea to call my dad to get lunch and then Andrew reminded me that I didn't have my phone. Awesome. So I walk to 77th Street and hey, there it is. I ask the guy at the front desk if he knew where my class was and after checking my coat, I made it to the 2nd floor library 25 minutes late. I was there for 20 minutes looking at some cool documents, and that was it. It was 1:50. I wasn't going to make it to my other class. What a waste of fucking time. Well, at least I have time to catch up on some reading. Bought $36 worth of groceries today. Ouch. They only had the Skinny Cow mint chocolate ice cream sandwiches. Actually, on second thought, those sound awesome. Dammit. I got Soy Delicious Mango Raspberry instead.
So I want to take a food science class but I doubt there is one here and that would probably be a waste of credits. This is something I want to learn on my own. Cooking and baking are two things I like doing but would not want to make a career out of. (Hey, that sounds like the way you think about every hobby of yours!) I made borscht over the weekend and it ruled. Then I made a healthy banana bread that was fairly decent. I want to develop my own baking recipes, but healthy ones that taste good. There is a certain proportion of flour and baking soda (or baking powder) that you need in order for the product to rise, and I think everything else only has some faint scientific necessity. I'm gonna do some more research. I made two batches of shitty muffins.
I'm going to buy a ukulele if I have enough money this week. Next purchase on the horizon is a melodica! !
