Title: And then there was one Fandom: Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle Pairing: Unrequited Fai/Kurogane Rating: PG A/N: For senshixdoukeshi. I’m so sorry this took so long! >.<
I've noticed several interpretations of the ending of TRC, and most of them are sad. I've always felt (somehow) that Kurogane was going to go back to Japan without Fay.
If I recall more closely what they said at AX: Syaoran has to work hard for his happy ending. So I can assume that Syao gets a happy ending...nothing was said about Kurogane and Fay. ^^
I've always thought that since the journey was based on mutual convenience, it should be easy for them to let go. Naturally that isn't the case, and this is my take on Fai keeping up appearances anyway. I imagine he would somehow lose his will to move forward without Kuro-rin, and Kurogane seems too fixated on his Japan to give it up. Q___Q
I agree the journey started out as mutual convenience, though according to Yuuko; nothing happens by coincidence; in otherwords, all their destinies are tied together. I think from then on, it won't be easy for them to just let go.
As a result of their coming together, Kurogane has been changing a lot--and so has Fay. I have no doubt that Kurogane still wishes to go back to his Japan at the end of the journey, though along the way I *hope* that his journey to discover true strength involves Fay in it. :) As for Fay, his wish is to simply never return to his world and to travel worlds. But you know, it's interesting to see interpretations of the ending. :)
